The beginning...

I'm on a mission to discover how God uses artists to build his kingdom and for his glory. Art in it's broad definition means, but is not limited to, any creative expression that one can experience with their 5 senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. People interact with the work that has been created and respond to it. All art expresses life and deep truths, either of the artist or the concept it's trying to communicate.

Since I was a child, I loved being creative. I drew, made clothing, wrote plays, performed for my family, sang, etc. I never feared what it meant to be creative and I always sought ways to express my creativity. I eventually studied fashion and costume design at the university. When I finished my degree, I worked in the theatre designing and making costumes, and I also did wardrobe for local theatre, opera and ballet.

As an artist myself, I desire to encourage artists and also be encouraged in my calling as one. Here's a prayer for artists that I thought was appropriate for this journey:

O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven: Be ever present with your servants who seek through art and music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth; and grant to them even now glimpses of your beauty, and make them worthy at length to behold it unveiled for evermore; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [From The Book of Common Prayer]
